SC Johnson's Kaleidoscope Education Series (KES) Programs are offered to schools at no cost - programs are available in person or through a broadcast.

KES: BrainSTEM for Elementary grades - in person

For 3rd-4th grade students - this link is for an in-person program. 

Your class will be engaged through the power of live performance in this standards-aligned program. Students will be exposed to foundational STEM concepts – the scientific method, predictions, patterns, cause and effect, creative problem solving and evidence – through interactive games and demonstrations. The presenter will bring the design process and coding to life as the audience becomes a human algorithm in real time with the students’ input!  (Presented by NTC)

KES: Extreme Science 2.0 - in person

For 6th, 7th and 8th grade students

Your class will be dazzled when David Hagerman – seen on America’s Got Talent – takes the stage! As he leads students on a wild journey through different fields of science, he uses humor to enhance engagement and retention. Principles covered include: 

  • Kinetic energy
    Heat energy
    Electrical conductivity
    States of matter
    Chemical reactions

Safety, responsibility and respect are key themes throughout the show. To reinforce these character traits, students observe how respect and responsibility are applied in scientific practices to ensure safety. This approach not only teaches important life skills but also demonstrates their relevance in real-world science.

KES: Amazing by Design - in person

For 5th, 6th and 7th grade students  

How many ways can you scramble a Rubik’s cube? How many ways can you shuffle a deck of cards? The answers are so large they stop feeling real, and that is where this program begins. Our presenter performs the kind of magic and mind reading that makes kids lean forward, then pulls back the curtain on what is underneath: the math of probability and combinations, and the science of perception, why our eyes and our brains fool us so easily. 

From there it gets personal. Students discover that an amazing life works the same way an impossible puzzle does. It gets built on purpose, through respect, responsibility and the choices you make when nobody is watching. Funny, interactive, full of numbers big enough to get a reaction, and a message that sticks long after the bus ride home. (Presented by Tim Hannig)

KES: Earth Rangers - in person

For 3rd and 4th grade students  

Students embark on an immersive environmental adventure that combines holograms and animatronics to bring ecosystems from around the world to life. As they learn about the relationships between organisms and their environments, students explore biodiversity, habitat needs, survival adaptations and the impact of human actions on natural systems. 

The program is designed like a game show with students answering questions, making evidence-based eco-decisions and tackling sustainability challenges. With audience participation and storytelling, kids have a blast while building an understanding of life and earth science concepts while discovering how their everyday choices can positively influence the environment in their own communities. (Presented by Earth Rangers)

KES: Earth, Wind and Fire - in person

For 1st and 2nd grade students  

This program will take your students on a spectacular science adventure filled with surprises, laughter, and discovery! Through a series of amazing demonstrations, young scientists will explore the different kinds of matter that make up the world around them. As they watch, predict and make observations, students learn how scientists use their senses to describe materials and notice how different substances can look, feel, and behave in unique ways. Your class will love this hands-on, energetic science exploration! (Presented by Club SciKidz)

KES: The Magical World of STEM - in person

For 4th and 5th grade students  

This high-energy program uses mind-blowing demonstrations, comedy, and hands-on involvement to make STEM concepts fun, engaging, and easy to understand. Students won’t just watch the show – they’ll become part of the action as they help perform incredible experiments and magical illusions that spark curiosity. Engineering and technology demonstrations will be done using common objects to make a robotic arm and demonstrations using a cell phone.

From the power of science to the creativity of engineering, this entertaining educational experience encourages students to think critically, ask questions and discover that learning can be both exciting and fun. (Presented by Brian Richards through Academic Entertainment)

For 7th and 8th grade students  

Exciting hands-on demonstrations will amaze and inspire your students as they are exposed to the often-intimidating field of physics and how it affects our everyday lives. In addition to the Laws of Motion, this program also touches on linear motion, rotational forces, energy, kinetic energy, potential energy, and the Law of Conservation of Energy in this action-packed program. KES: It's a Gas - in person

For 2nd and 3rd grade students  

Your class will love this fast-paced science program that uses exciting demonstrations, audience participation and scientific inquiry to introduce students to the fascinating properties of matter. Students discover how scientists ask questions, develop hypotheses, make predictions, observe carefully, collect evidence and use that evidence to explain the world around them.

Throughout the program, students explore the properties of solids, liquids and gases while learning the difference between physical and chemical changes. Every demonstration reinforces the idea that science is not magic—it is discovering how the world works through careful observation, experimentation and evidence. (Presented by Nitro Joe Science)

KES: Hansel and Gretel - in person

For Kindergarten, 1st and 2nd grade students  

Share the experience of attending an opera with your students! This Florentine Opera original adaptation of Hansel & Gretel is performed in English. Hansel and Gretel are sent to gather berries, but their adventure in the woods soon tests their wits and their bond as siblings. With both helpful and scary neighbors, they must work together to make it home. This playful take on Engelbert Humperdinck’s gorgeous opera will weave a suspenseful and hilarious opera experience for your class. 

This 45-minute program includes time for Q&A. To help you prepare your students for this operetta, materials and activities will be shared with teachers in advance of your performance day. (Presented by The Florentine Opera Baumgartner Studio Artists)

For 5th, 6th and 7th grade students  

Students become scientists, engineers and coders in this standards-aligned program that transforms learning through interactive demonstrations and audience participation. First, we’ll explore essential STEM skills such as prediction, investigation, data collection, evidence-based reasoning and problem-solving. 

Then the audience steps into the role of a human algorithm, experiencing the logic of computer programming firsthand. Performers introduce a set of computational rules, then guide students to function as a single, coordinated system. Student input shapes the algorithm in real time where every choice influences what happens next. The result is an educational program that builds enthusiasm for the topics that will define students’ futures. (Presented by NTC)

KES: Frank Lloyd Wright/Jr. Architect Experience

This 75-90-minute program consists of a tour, a short film (on Frank Lloyd Wright's career and/or the film To Be Alive!), plus plenty of time for questions. 

The tour experience includes an in-depth look at two historic buildings (and a walk through a third building) at SC Johnson's worldwide headquarters in Racine, Wisconsin. Whether you're looking for a program to supplement an architecture unit in school, Scouts or similar, or a way to share concepts with curious minds, this experience will captivate the attention of kids and adults while you discover the wonders of design!
