This tour is perfect for those who want a close, in-depth look at SC Johnson’s inspired architecture as well as an understanding of the legendary partnership between third-generation company leader H.F. Johnson, Jr. and the renowned architect Frank Lloyd Wright.

The tour features the Frank Lloyd Wright-designed Administration Building (the second-floor mezzanine and the penthouse level are now included on weekends only) and the Research Tower, as well as Foster + Partners-designed Fortaleza Hall which includes the Timeline Tunnel, the SC Johnson Gallery: Furniture Done Wright and The Lily Pad gift shop.

In 2021, SC Johnson opened a new state-of-the-art facility, called Waxbird Commons, on the west side of our global headquarters campus. The tour will visit this innovative and dynamic space, which includes many inspiring features informed by our history and guided by our purpose.

Are you a lover of all things Frank Lloyd Wright? This tour places a heavy emphasis on our Frank Lloyd Wright-designed buildings. You’ll tour the Administration Building (the second-floor mezzanine and penthouse level are now included on weekends only), Research Tower and the SC Johnson Gallery: Furniture Done Wright where you’ll be awed by the design and inspired by Wright's innovation.

This tour also includes a special screening of the film Frank Lloyd Wright in Racine which details Mr. Wright’s relationship with the city of Racine.

This 70–90-minute program consists of a tour, a short film (on Frank Lloyd Wright's career and/or the film To Be Alive!), plus plenty of time for questions. 

The tour experience includes an in-depth look at two historic buildings (and a walk through a third building) at SC Johnson's worldwide headquarters in Racine, Wisconsin. Whether you're looking for a program to supplement an architecture unit in school, Scouts or similar, or a way to share concepts with curious minds, this experience will captivate the attention of kids and adults while you discover the wonders of design!

Guests can be dropped off at the Golden Rondelle lobby doors, then please park in the lot just east of the building. You will check in and start the tour in the lobby. Each adult will need to show their ID before the group will be allowed on campus for the tour.

In 1998, fourth generation SC Johnson leader Sam Johnson recreated his father's 1935 expedition from Racine, Wisconsin, to Fortaleza, Brazil. He wanted to reconnect with the memory of his father and to reinvigorate the company's spirit of adventure. But even more than an adventure, it became a journey about family. In 2000, Sam produced a film about the trip, and shared his deepest personal feelings about reconnecting with his father. The film has since reached countless audiences with its messages about parents and children, love and support. The Washington Post called it "a personal epilogue to the importance of family." The Tribune Review said "'Carnaúba' is one of the most beautiful and artistic documentaries to be produced in a long time." Carnaúba: A Son's Memoir runs about 1 hour.

Commissioned by SC Johnson for the 1964-1965 World's Fair, the Academy Award-winning film To Be Alive! offered an uncommon blend of authenticity, social progress and optimism. Former U.S. President Dwight Eisenhower called it "... a most imaginative film and very beautifully done. It shows the world through the children's eyes, where there is no room for prejudice or arrogance." With its exuberance and focus on the joy of being alive, the film became one of the most popular exhibits at the Fair. To Be Alive! runs about 20 minutes.
