SC Johnson's Kaleidoscope Education Series (KES) Programs are offered to schools at no cost - programs are available in person or through a broadcast.

Programs are listed by suggested grade. Click on links to make a reservation.

KES: Pro-Kids Science Magic - In Person

For 4th-5th grade students - this reservation is for an in-person program. 

Students will be engaged and entertained during this stimulating presentation filled with science, math, music and magic! This unique, hands-on program covers grades 4-5 core science standards and reinforces important character traits like respect, honesty and responsibility. STEM concepts are incorporated into interactive demonstrations while stressing the importance of scientific reasoning and the design process. This is one program you won’t want your class to miss! For 6th grade students - this reservation is for an in-person program. 

Your class will be so captivated by this state-of-the-art magic program, they won’t realize the math skills they are learning. This program includes lessons covering statistics, percentages, probability and much more! In addition to calculating the odds of winning the lottery, students will learn some math stunts they can use to create the illusion they can read minds! Criss Angel-style stunt involving math that will have everyone on the edge of their seats! (Presented by Cris Johnson)

KES: The Real Spinosaurus is Plenty Scary - In Person

For 6th, 7th and 8th grade students - this reservation is for an in-person program. 

Your class will be fascinated to hear from paleontologist, professor and National Geographic Explorer, Paul Sereno about his recent dinosaur discovery. Sereno will captivate the audience with his stories, videos, fossils and more about his boldest dinosaur hunt yet, to central Niger. Sereno joins us for his first public presentation on the 'dinosaur expedition of the century,' highlighting the adventure and new discoveries. There will be time for audience questions. For 3rd and 4th grade students - this reservation is for an in-person program. 

Students and teachers alike will be dazzled and engaged during this high-energy, interactive science experience that explores the thrilling extremes of heat and cold! Through captivating demonstrations, students will discover the science behind fire and combustion, then cool off with the fascinating properties of dry ice. They'll witness foggy dry ice storms and be amazed by a special Mad Science "burp" potion - all while learning about chemical reactions, air pressure, and the states of matter. This program supports core science standards and encourages curiosity, observation and scientific reasoning. (Presented by Mad Science Milwaukee)

KES: The Caribbean Sea Expedition - In Person

For 2nd, 3rd and 4th grade students - this reservation is for an in-person program. 

We begin with a full demonstration of how fish play "hide and seek" to survive, with student volunteers and audience participation. Marine scientists and ocean explorers Wayne and Karen Brown then showcase the SCUBA gear and underwater scooters used in their Caribbean Sea expeditions. Through a vivid multimedia presentation, students explore the coral reefs of Curacao, encountering a wide range of marine life and learning about their survival adaptations. Your class will gain appreciation for this important natural resource - the water planet. (Presented by The Ocean Adventure)

For 2nd-3rd grade students - this reservation is for an in-person program. 

Your students will discover how being a scientist can be fun with demonstrations in chemistry, physics and hands-on experiments with Professor Norman. As he explores the Scientific Method and reasoning, together we'll put on our "thinking caps" to form observations, conduct experiments to test an analyze each hypothesis. Demonstrations include real life examples involving cooking, movie special effects, fireworks and magic! (Presented by Norman Barnhart)

From a spinning tree to holiday fireballs, we'll discover some of Santa's top secrets - hidden in science! By engaging and fascinating the audience with hands-on experiments tied to the Next Generation Science Standards, teachers and students will look at and enjoy science in a new way. Share the experience of attending an opera with your students! This Florentine Opera original adaptation of Donizetti's Elixir of Love reminds us that the best person to be is YOU! Music is performed in the original Italian, tied together with dialogue in English. This 45-minute program includes plenty of time for Q&A. Students will be involved in demonstrations showing the weight of air, the effects of the atmosphere, and the properties and actions involved in a vacuum. Experiments with air cannons, windbags, a hovercraft, and more show that the air everywhere is a lot more exciting than you think!
