Kaleidoscope Education Series (KES) Programs

SC Johnson's Kaleidoscope Education Series (KES) Programs are offered to schools at no cost - programs are available in person or through a broadcast.

Programs are listed by suggested grade. Click on links to make a reservation.

  • Submit your reservation by the due date - you'll receive a confirmation email immediately and a reminder email sent approximately 1 week prior to the program.

KES: Frank Lloyd Wright/Jr. Architect Experience

This 75-90-minute program consists of a tour, a short film (on Frank Lloyd Wright's career and/or the film To Be Alive!), plus plenty of time for questions. 

The tour experience includes an in-depth look at two historic buildings (and a walk through a third building) at SC Johnson's worldwide headquarters in Racine, Wisconsin. Whether you're looking for a program to supplement an architecture unit in school, Scouts or similar, or a way to share concepts with curious minds, this experience will captivate the attention of kids and adults while you discover the wonders of design!

Several program times will be added in early Spring for May 2026, however times can be scheduled based on need throughout the school year. If you have questions or are looking for a different date, email grted@scj.com or call 262-260-3091 to discuss.

Each adult will need to show their ID before the group will be allowed on campus for the tour.

KES: Fire and Ice - In Person

For 3rd and 4th grade students - this reservation is for an in-person program. 

Students and teachers alike will be dazzled and engaged during this high-energy, interactive science experience that explores the thrilling extremes of heat and cold! Through captivating demonstrations, students will discover the science behind fire and combustion, then cool off with the fascinating properties of dry ice. They'll witness foggy dry ice storms and be amazed by a special Mad Science "burp" potion - all while learning about chemical reactions, air pressure, and the states of matter. This program supports core science standards and encourages curiosity, observation and scientific reasoning. (Presented by Mad Science Milwaukee)

For 5th grade students - this reservation is for an in-person program. 

Your class will be so captivated by this state-of-the-art magic program, they won’t realize they are learning! Using magic, comedy and lots of audience participation, this program will make math come alive. Focusing on problem solving, probabilities, fractions and geometry, students will learn an awesome math trick that will stimulate their brains and fool their friends.(Presented by Brian Richards)

KES: The Caribbean Sea Expedition - In Person

For 2nd, 3rd and 4th grade students - this reservation is for an in-person program. 

We begin with a full demonstration of how fish play "hide and seek" to survive, with student volunteers and audience participation. Marine scientists and ocean explorers Wayne and Karen Brown then showcase the SCUBA gear and underwater scooters used in their Caribbean Sea expeditions. Through a vivid multimedia presentation, students explore the coral reefs of Curacao, encountering a wide range of marine life and learning about their survival adaptations. Your class will gain appreciation for this important natural resource - the water planet. (Presented by The Ocean Adventure)

KES: Amazing Science - In Person

For 2nd-3rd grade students - this reservation is for an in-person program. 

Your students will discover how being a scientist can be fun with demonstrations in chemistry, physics and hands-on experiments with Professor Norman. As he explores the Scientific Method and reasoning, together we'll put on our "thinking caps" to form observations, conduct experiments to test an analyze each hypothesis. Demonstrations include real life examples involving cooking, movie special effects, fireworks and magic! (Presented by Norman Barnhart)

For Kindergarten and 1st grade students - this reservation is for an in-person program. 

From a spinning tree to holiday fireballs, we'll discover some of Santa's top secrets - hidden in science! By engaging and fascinating the audience with hands-on experiments tied to the Next Generation Science Standards, teachers and students will look at and enjoy science in a new way. Then you'll get into the holiday season as we engineer snow in Mr. Science's Holiday STEM Lab! (Presented by Mr. Science/Jason Lindsey, Hooked on Science through Class Act)

For Kindergarten-5th grade students - this reservation is for an in-person program. 

Share the experience of attending an opera with your students! This Florentine Opera original adaptation of Donizetti's Elixir of Love reminds us that the best person to be is YOU! Music is performed in the original Italian, tied together with dialogue in English. This 45-minute program includes plenty of time for Q&A. NEW THIS YEAR, to help your class be prepared for this operetta, materials and activities will be shared in advance of your performance day. KES: Air: The Invisible Wonder - In Person

For 3rd grade students - this reservation is for an in-person program. 

Students will be involved in demonstrations showing the weight of air, the effects of the atmosphere, and the properties and actions involved in a vacuum. Experiments with air cannons, windbags, a hovercraft, and more show that the air everywhere is a lot more exciting than you think! Your class will learn how to measure the weight of air, how an airplane flies and see a guest shrink wrapped! (Presented by Mobile Ed Productions)

For 2nd grade students - this reservation is for an in-person program. 

Grade-appropriate math vocabulary and lessons are introduced and reinforced in fun and mysterious demonstrations. Real-life examples involving patterns, problem solving, permutation and estimation examples will be shared. The concepts of symmetry and mathematical creativity are explored in ways your class will remember.
